oMENU v4.00 * Disk Menu System
Copyright (C) 1990 Overerx Inc., Kingston, Ontario, Canada
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DESCRIPTION: A complete DISK MENU system. Provides fast and easy access to
your programs. Displays a simple list of your applications and
allows you to select one using the arrow keys or a mouse.. No
knowledge of DOS required.
----------------
NEW INSTALLATION
----------------
To install your oMENU system ...
1. Make a sub-directory on your hard drive or floppy disk called MENU.
(You can use any sub-directory name.)
2. Then copy the oMENU files to that sub-directory.
3. Then type oMENU and press ENTER. This creates 1.BAT.
4. Then COPY 1.BAT to any sub-directory included in your path assignment.
This makes oMENU accessible from any location by pressing 1 <enter>.
You may also want to include automatic execution of your oMENU system in
your AUTOEXEC.BAT file by making it's last command line a 1.
To operate oMENU from DOS, type 1 and then press ENTER. Once setup, move
your cursor bar up and down with your arrow keys, and choose a function by
pressing ENTER.

GENERAL INFORMATION
-------------------
Your pull down menus are simply APPLICATIONS, PAGE, EDIT, and OPTIONS.
Applications are defined and located by you. Pages are added by you as
required. The EDIT and OPTIONS menus are detailed below:

System Security
You can ADD, EDIT, and DELETE applications or pages. When you ADD an
application you will be prompted to locate the program once. When you
EDIT an application, you will be asked if you want to locate it again.
Arranging Applications simply allows you to sort the order in which they
appear on the menus.
NOTE: When editing or adding applications to the menu, you can cause a
menu SOLID LINE to appear at any line by entering a - OR A /.
OPTIONAL System Security:
Application Security - Each application can be passworded. You will be
prompted to point to an application and assign it a password.
Page Security - Each page can be passworded. You will be prompted to
point to a page and assign it a password.
DOS Security - Access to DOS can be passworded. You will be prompted to
assign a password to the Esc to DOS feature.
System Security - Initially there is no System Password. All passworded
areas are accessible. To secure ALL areas, you need to establish System
Password. You will then be required to enter the System Password in order
to be able to change any of the passworded levels in oMENU. Once you have
attained System Security Access, you can get into any area. To turn this
access off, return to System Security and press enter.
Write your System Security Password down! DO NOT LOOSE THIS PASSWORD.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FILE LOCATION SERVICE: Part of the power of oMENU is due to it's File
Location Service. When you ADD or EDIT your menu item listing, you will then
be required to point out the related file using the File Location Service.
On the bottom line of your screen, the options are as follows:
Esc=EXIT D=SET DRIVE Home=PAUSE off Tab=CMD LINE !=DOS COMMAND *=BROWSE
=========================================================================
Choice Action
=========================================================================
Esc=EXIT Causes an exit to DOS at your current location.
D=SET DRIVE Causes a drive change for further navigation.
Home=PAUSE off Causes a pause after execution of the program you will
choose, before it returns to oMENU.
Tab=CMD LINE Allows input of a command line (then choose program).
!=DOS COMMAND Allows input of a DOS command. Pause after execution is
automatic for this choice.
*=BROWSE Causes the file chosen to be browsed using LIST if it
exists in your path. Any LIST program can be used
(name must be LIST.COM or LIST.EXE).
When in File Location Service, just use the arrow keys to locate a program and
press enter to register it. If the choice is not an EXE, BAT, or COM file it
will not let you select it (unless using the * browse key). If your choice is
a batch file, you will be prompted to release control of the operation to the
batch file (thereby causing the batch file chosen to take over from oMENU when
it is selected later as a menu choice), or to return to oMENU after execution.
Usually the choice to RETURN to oMENU is used.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
REGISTRATION: To register, run REGISTER.EXE. It will printout an application
for you. Just fill in your name and address. Send it to
Overerx Inc. (address below).
When you receive your REGISTRATION KEY, run REGISTER.EXE again and enter the
key. oMENU will then be registered and legally yours. In addition, you will
be able to use future updates of oMENU using the same REGISTRATION KEY. So
when you register once, you never pay again.
Registration is $20.00.
